Guardianship Program

At Idaho Jewels, we make an effort to give families the opportunity to have a healthy dog in their home. Participating in our Guardianship Program is an excellent way to have a healthy dog as a forever family pet at a very low expense. We believe all dogs should have a safe and loving environment to live in. We appreciate and rely on trustworthy, caring families who are selected to participate in our Guardianship Program!

AVAILABLE POODLES

First, You MUST have a fenced yard & live within 2 hours of Rigby, Idaho. (some exceptions may apply.)
Prospective Guardian Homes must fill out an application by clicking “I’m Interested,” on any of the listings below to submit your guardian home application.

A small, "getting started" fee of $250 is part of the acceptance process and will help you get started with quality pet food and pet care supplies.

As a Guardian Home, you will be responsible for the dog's wellness including: grooming, vet care, immunizations, socialization, proper diet as instructed by us, exercise... and most importantly being loved as a family pet! Any cost related to health testing and breeding will be the responsibility of Idaho Jewels Poodles.
A Guardian Home must be willing and able to return the dog back to us for health testing, breeding, whelping and raising puppies. After the dog has finished with their breeding career, she will be spayed and the ownership of the dog will officially be transferred to the Guardian Home.
Unless we make other arrangements with you, for the birth of each litter, Females return to us for 6-7 weeks during birthing & raising of their puppies.
Considering each female is typically bred twice within a calendar year, prospective guardian homes can expect to visit about 4-6 times each year to pick-up/drop-off as needed.

This typically depends on the age at which you decide to start your guardianship over them. We typically retire our guardian home females at the ages of 6 or 7.

At that time, she will be spayed, and the ownership of the dog will officially be transferred to the Guardian Home.
