Winter is right around the corner. If you live in a cold area, it’s probably already started! Now that Thanksgiving is over, it’s time to officially welcome Winter and share all of our fun Pawliday plans!
Embracing Indoor Playtime
The big bummer of Winter is that it’s too cold to take our younger puppies outside for playtime. While we had a ton of fun taking them out for “Recess” during the warmer Spring/Summer/Fall months, it’s time to embrace indoor playtime! Despite not being able to run around in a big open yard, pups are still happy to have fun and one-on-one time with us! We love to take them out to the office to see them explore a new environment, and we also love to just spend time holding and cuddling with them out there when we have the time. Our puppies’ safety is paramount, and while some of our older puppies are able to go outside via our doggy door at their pleasure, we have to protect the pups that aren’t quite ready to graduate to that level yet!
The Commitment of a “Christmas Puppy”
As wonderful as it can be to welcome a puppy into your home for Christmas as a present, it’s also a very big commitment to welcome a dog into the family. We only approve families that we believe are willing and able to provide a forever home for their Christmas pup! We are also super willing to board puppies at no additional cost during the Christmas season, so that the timing can be perfect! It can be so hard to book flights during the Holidays, so we urge you to reserve your pup, and start making plans just as soon as you can if you’re planning to fly in during late-December to pick up your perfect Idaho Jewels Poodle!
If you’re adopting a Christmas puppy in the hopes that someone else would love to adopt it for Christmas, please be 100% sure of this decision! Dogs are living beings with wants and needs too! It’s important to ensure that everyone is on the same page of wanting to care for a dog. We’ve had past clients who purchased a Christmas puppy just to learn that the ‘gift’ recipient didn’t like dogs. Please have the necessary conversations before you reserve or adopt a puppy from us. We want to find 100% committed forever families!
