Guardianship Application

  • First, You MUST have a fenced yard & live within 2 hours of Rigby, Idaho. (some exceptions may apply.)

    Prospective Guardian Homes must fill out a Guardian Application prior to Reserving their chosen Guardian Dog.

    A small, "getting started" fee of $250 is part of the acceptance process and will help you get started with quality pet food and pet care supplies.

    As a Guardian Home, you will be responsible for the dog's wellness including: grooming, vet care, immunizations, socialization, proper diet as instructed by us, exercise... and most importantly being loved as a family pet! Any cost related to health testing and breeding will be the responsibility of Idaho Jewels Poodles.

    A Guardian Home must be willing and able to return the dog back to us for health testing, breeding, whelping and raising puppies. After the dog has finished with their breeding career, she will be spayed and the ownership of the dog will officially be transferred to the Guardian Home.

    Unless we make other arrangements with you, for the birth of each litter, Females return to us for 6-7 weeks during birthing & raising of their puppies.

    Considering each female is typically bred twice within a calendar year, prospective guardian homes can expect to visit about 4-6 times each year to pick-up/drop-off as needed.

  • There is a nominal start-up cost of only $250 for new Guardian Homes which includes:

    Life's Abundance dog food
    A variety of Life's Abundance holistically-formulated treats
    Life's Abundance nutritional supplements
    Life's Abundance ear care formula
    Life's Abundance shampoo
    Life's Abundance bath fresh mist
    Life's Abundance Biodeodorizer Spray
    Additional financial stipend for each litter

  • This typically depends on the age at which you decide to take on guardianship them. We typically retire our females at 6 or 7.

    At that time, she will be spayed, and the ownership of the dog will officially be transferred to the Guardian Home.
